The winner of the $1,000 buy-in Seven-Card Stud High-Low championship was Tom Schneider, from Scottsdale, AZ. He is a 47-year-old poker player and author. This was his second victory at the World Series of Poker, and second gold bracelet won this year. He previously prevailed in the mixed-game event (Omaha High-Low and Seven-Card Stud). -- Schneider's victory means that the WSOP will have crowned a double-gold bracelet winner in each of the last four years. Despite the huge tournament fields, at least one player at each World Series in recent years was able to break through the ranks. Duel-winners in recent years include Scott Fischman (2004), Mark Seif (2005), Bill Chen and Jeff Madsen (2006), and now Tom Schneider in 2007. -- Schneider not only wrote a poker book called "Oops, I won Too Much Money!" he also hosts a regular radio show on poker.
