Ivey started the 8 player final easy chip leader with about 40% of the total available. At the 4 handed stage he was tied by Moore and a little later all four players became even in chip stacks. From that moment on Ivey showed class by calling in tricky positions and made it three way with once more a massive lead in chips. Ivey continued to outclass the others but also picked up more hands and used his stack advantage to good ends.
Ivey's win gives him his second Bracelet, only two other African-American's have won events at the WSOP. He was a talent well expected to pick up tournaments over the years and at 2 in three years he is on target to match the best, |
